Have questions about the new Minecraft axolotl mb? The Minecraft Caves & Cliffs update part one added the new amphibious creature (opens in new window). While the new biomes won't be available until later in the year, there is still much to learn about the axolotl.
The Minecraft axolotl mobi is one of many new animals that have been added to the 1.17 update. However, you should be cautious around goats as they will try to throw you off their mountainside homes . Axolotls are much more friendly than other animals, so why not make friends with these adorable creatures? Exactly. We have all the information we need about the Minecraft axolotl. This includes where to find them and how to tame them.
Lush Caves was the original cave biome that Axolotls were supposed to spawn in. These new biomes won't be available in Minecraft until later in the year. So where can we find these fun fish, and when will they arrive?
Axolotls can currently spawn in any underground water source as long as it is completely dark and below sea level (y63). This guide will be updated with the update 1.18 biomes to reflect any future changes in spawning. However, this is how you can still find axolotls.
Although they can't be tamed technically, axelotls aren't hostile to players and can be scooped into a bucket easily. You can then take them with you, or re-home them in the pond or lake close to your base.
If you don't have one, you can attach a lead to your axolotl. However, it will die if the water level is higher than five minutes.
Axolotls can also be bred with buckets of tropical fish. When you have two adult Axolotls, you can feed them each with the tropical fish. Once they are in love, you will see red hearts. How sweet.
The resulting baby axolotl will be given the colour of its parents at random. It will take 20 minutes to mature. You can speed up this process by using more tropical fish.
These are the colours available for Minecraft axolotls:
- Lucy (pink), - Wild (brown).
The blue axolotl, which is the rarest of all colours, has a 0.083% chance to spawn either naturally or through the breeding of adult axolotls with other colors. If you have your heart set on a blue axolotl you will need patience and more luck than usual.
Axolotls prefer tropical fish, which are usually found in ocean biomes. A bucket of tropical fish is better than single catch to feed an axolotl.
Tropical fish are very fearful and can be difficult to capture in a bucket. This is why patience is important. It's worth checking with the Wandering Trader to see if they have a bucket of tropical fish available for sale.
These adorable creatures aren’t hostile to players but they will attack seaborne threats. They will leave turtles and dolphins alone, but they'll take on any other threat.
They also have a clever defense mechanism: If an Axolotl is underwater damaged, it will die and gain Regeneration. When an axolotl is killed by a mob, the Regeneration status effect can temporarily be transferred to a player.
